About

I've been a licensed Massage Therapist since 1999. (New York, Connecticut, Oregon) I've recently moved to Valencia, Spain, where I am happy to begin building a practice.

Massage has the power to touch the whole person. Not only is every bit of our physical body interconnected via the beautiful, alive web of fascia (or connective tissue) – but the mind and spirit are also interwoven throughout. As a massage therapist, as I help you to feel better in your body, to ease tensions and heal from injury or pain, it is my deep hope that you may also feel better in your life.

I love to do therapeutic work that is also relaxing. I combine Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage and often work rather slowly to address the fascia. I also incorporate aspects of other techniques I have studied, tailoring each session to the needs and goals of the client.

One of my favorite beyond-the-ordinary-massage techniques is Zero Balancing. “ZB” is a hands-on mind/body therapy which was developed in the 1970’s by Dr. Fritz Smith, who was a medical doctor, osteopath and acupuncturist. ZB is designed to increase an integrated sense of well-being by releasing deep tension held in bones, joints, and soft tissue. During a session you will lie face up on a massage table, fully clothed, as I apply pressure, lifting and traction to various points of the body. Afterwards you may feel “lighter, freer, energized and more in tune with yourself.”

I have also studied Pre- and Peri-natal Massage Therapy, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Reiki, and various other energy balancing and manual therapy techniques. I am a former modern dancer, yoga teacher and writer and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance Composition and Performance. I am currently in training to become a certified Health and Life Coach. All I have learned, and continue to learn, informs my hands-on work.

I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 25 years and I still feel honored by the trust my clients place in me. Working with the body and the flow of energy is sacred work, and I am grateful to be able to help people in this way.
