At The Movement Puzzle, Christine Wiese practices connective tissue massage therapy (LMBT, NC License #15593) and teaches Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga to support healthy postural patterns and functional movement.
Connective tissue therapy, in the tradition of structural integration, involves slow, direct manipulation of the myofascial tissue. We will systematically work through the body to dissolve restricted areas and restore a sense of ease.
In the practice of Mysore style Ashtanga yoga, students learn at their own pace in small groups with assistance from a teacher. This method provides space for students to develop a relationship with their practice and for the teacher to provide guidance tailored to each student’s individual practice.
The two practices complement one another. They offer short-term and long-term methods to work toward developing healthy postural patterns and increased embodiment. These practices are appropriate for clients who are willing to engage with their body in a process of change over time.
