I am passionate about helping others make the positive transformations they are seeking. Bodywork is a collaborative effort. Though most people find immediate relief, it isn’t a quick fix. To truly change, requires consistent effort and a lot of patience.
Reiki is a wonderful tool for self-care and for supporting ourselves and others through change. So in addition to offering Reiki sessions, I also teach people how to use it themselves. I offer training in private and small groups. Having lived in Japan, I feel a special connection to this ancient healing art.
While I combine a number of techniques on the table, including Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular, Zen Shiatsu is another modality clients find incredibly restorative.
A Japanese bodywork technique traditionally done on a cushioned floor mat, Shiatsu works acupressure points in the body, as well as muscles, and incorporates stretching and energy balancing. Pressure is deep to light, as requested. Clients are asked to wear comfortable clothes covering the limbs that one can easily stretch in, as well as socks.
I was trained in massage at the N.H. Institute for Therapeutic Arts in Hudson, NH. And, consider myself a lifelong learner, enjoying puzzles of all kinds, including anatomical ones.
Thank you for another wonderful session. It's such a comfort and so physically and mentally restoring.
You really improved the range of motion in my shoulder and in my neck.
You also zeroed in on some other imbalances that I wasn't even aware of until you eased them.
At the end, I could really feel that some stuck and stale energies had been moved out and on their way.
You are natural healer with deep, calm intuition and meticulous techniques.
It is fun to map and learn my muscles as you move so patiently and expertly over them.
