Bodywork is a branch of manual medicine that focuses on the elevation and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Bodyworkers are connective tissue specialists who detect tissue imbalances and structural imblances in the body using the most sensative instrument in the world; their hands! Bodywork involves the hands-on evaluation and treatment of the muscles, ligaments, tendons and their surrounding connective tissue. It focuses on the treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Tension in the connective tissue can cause a structural imbalance and this is when bodyworkers come in to gently manipulate the affected tissue using their hands. This allows the tension to be released and thereby restoring proper balance.
