About Amy

Amy is a recent graduate of Irene’s Institute of Myomassology. Before entering the field of massage therapy, she taught in preschool classrooms for over twenty years.  After a stress-related health challenge caused her to re-evaluate and change her own health and wellness practices, she became intrigued and inspired by the human body’s potential for healing.  She desires to combine the abilities of cultivating learning and building relationships that she enjoyed in teaching with her zeal for wellness.   At Irene’s, she developed an intense interest in therapeutic massage, especially neuromuscular techniques and myofascial work, as well as Eastern modalities.  In the future, she plans to deepen her study of Myofascial Release, Shiatsu, and Thai massage, and she will begin an apprenticeship at Irene’s Institute of Myomassology. When she is not involved in massage-related activities, she can be found getting messy in a pottery studio or exploring Michigan’s beautiful forests and lakes.
