Message from AMTA National Board President Joan Nichols

Joan Nichols

I am humbled and honored to serve as your National President this year as we celebrate 75 years of health and wellness.

In honor of AMTA's 75th anniversary in 2018, AMTA launched a nationwide radio advertising campaign in January to promote our members and the massage therapy profession. These radio spots are running on 1,400 radio stations throughout the country on a variety of radio networks, such as I-Heart Radio Countdown with Mario Lopez.

We’re always researching the changing massage therapy environment, so we can best understand your new and evolving needs, to give you the best value for your membership and give you tools for success in your practice.

AMTA has a vision statement that further expresses our mission statement and core values to guide our decision-making and actions on behalf of our members and the profession.  I’m sure you share our vision that, as the most trusted professionals in massage therapy, AMTA members are integral to health care and wellness.

I have been a massage therapist since 1998 and have a private practice in the South Metro area of Atlanta, GA, with a focus on on-site wellness programs and community events. I was also a massage therapy educator from 2008 to 2015 and have served in a variety of volunteer roles at the national and chapter level for AMTA since 2000. AMTA means a lot to me, and I hope it means something special to you.

Thank you for being a member of the most trusted and respected name in the profession - AMTA.

Yours in service,

Joan Nichols
