AMTA Works with West Virginia to Foster Massage Therapy as Alternative to Opioids

Over several months, AMTA has worked with West Virginia’s Attorney General to promote alternatives to opioids for pain. One result of the collaboration is a response from the Attorney General that, “…the massage therapists of West Virginia will be counted on to play a leadership role in ensuring patients have access to adequate pain management.”

AMTA is continuing to look at collaborating with other states to have them recognize the value massage therapists can provide in easing pain and reducing the use of opioids.
