AMTA Schools Celebrate National Massage Therapy Awareness Week

AMTA's 16th annual National Massage Therapy Awareness Week® (NMTAW) activities and public relations promoted the value of massage for health and wellness. Now part of the association's ongoing consumer awareness program, NMTAW gives AMTA members the opportunity to promote the profession and their businesses.
Major online publications and news services published information from AMTA’s annual consumer survey and featured stories on the growing use of massage therapy for health and medical reasons. AMTA members across the country reached out to the public with information about massage, massage demonstrations and charity events througout the week, and photos of many are on AMTA's Facebook page.
AMTA’s multi-media press releases again brought publicity through free electronic billboards in New York City and Las Vegas.

Examples of AMTA School member NMTAW activities:

  • Centura College (VA) celebrated with student games and prizes, chair massage demonstrations and a presentation on AMTA member benefits.
  • Students at Sheridan College  (WY) offered free 15-minute chair massages and discussed the benefits of therapeutic massage for people of all ages.
