Do you have research to share with the massage therapy community? The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) has some upcoming opportunities, for both practitioners and students, to highlight recent research, showcase expertise, and generate conversations about scientific explorations within the profession.

Learn how research is vital to advancing the massage profession and its integration into health care spaces

Submit Your Research to the MTF Poster Session

This year, MTF will present its 26th annual Poster Session at the AMTA 2026 National Convention in Denver, CO on August 27-29. The MTF Poster Session showcases massage therapy research, creates a forum for informal discussions, and provides Convention attendees with the opportunity to learn how research impacts the profession. Posters are also an important way for massage therapists and researchers to share their insights with other members of the profession and foster a community dedicated to research excellence.

The 2026 MTF Poster Session will feature both encore posters—current and relevant massage therapy research previously presented at recent research conferences—and first-occasion posters, developed specifically for the AMTA 2026 National Convention. Posters will be presented across three categories:

  • Original Research (protocols, reviews, and theoretical pieces welcome)

  • Programmatic Evaluation

  • Clinical Case Presentations

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to share your research and help inform and inspire other massage therapists—submissions are due May 1!

Student Case Report Contest

MTF’s Case Report Contest allows students to develop and hone research skills by conducting a research case report and presenting their findings in a professional research paper for award consideration. Case reports play an important role in professional literature and research, which help elevate massage therapy within the health care sphere. The Case Report Contest is a great way for students to practice critical writing skills and generate research that supports the future of the massage therapy profession.

Top-rated reports will be recognized through publication opportunities, cash rewards, and an invitation to submit their research for the AMTA National Convention Poster Session. Submissions are due June 1.
