AMTA Joins Leading Pain & Integrative Health Conferences

We continue to focus on the latest research and the role massage therapy plays in integrative care and pain relief.

2021 Summit on Balanced Pain Management

AMTA recently attended the Virtual 2021 Summit on Balanced Pain Management focused on recognizing the importance of patient-centered pain care. The summit brought together patients, health care providers, advocates, regulators, and legal experts to examine the challenges and promise of pain care that meets the needs of each individual patient. Topics included patient-centered pain care, pain policy predictions, COVID-19 related pain, arthritis care, and advancing insurance coverage for multidisciplinary pain care.

NACCIH Advisory Council Meeting

The National Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health (NACCIH) is charged with the responsibility of advising, consulting with, and making recommendations to the Director, NCCIH, on matters relating to the research activities and functions of the Center. The role and responsibilities of the council members include secondary review of grant applications in light of NCCIH scientific program priorities and program balance. AMTA joined others in January to attend an Advisory Council meeting, listen to the 2021–2025 Strategic Plan Update, and learn more regarding upcoming as well as proposed research activities that could prove beneficial to massage therapy.
