About

Stephen has been fascinated with the human body since he was young. He brings his reverence and passion for all that we can express with this miraculous vessel to his work.


Growing up on Boulder's trails and athletic fields, he then found the wonder of live performance. Much of his performance career included more physical roles and styles. His devotion to exploring the natural world took him skiing, backpacking, hiking, climbing, cycling and sea kayaking. He brought this curiosity to the study of yoga, dance, and eventually massage therapy. He has been practicing bodywork privately and in clinical settings for years and has taught massage, anatomy, kinesiology, yoga and movement.


Stephen studied Theater at Northwestern University and then Massage Therapy at Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle. Since, in addition to technique courses, he has studied intensively with Norman Allard (movement, yoga, anatomy, breath, joint mobility) and Mary Ann Foster (Experiential Kinesiology, breath, anatomy, Neuromuscular Therapy). For years he studied yoga with Richard Freeman, Rodney Yee, and many other elite teachers. He has studied Mindfulness and Meditation with Thich Nhat Hanh and others. He has explored conscious movement/dance with Kimberly Jonas and Melissa Michaels.


Stephen's bodywork blends a broad range of manual treatment approaches: Deep Tissue, Myofascial work, Trigger Point work, and joint mobility. He employs cupping and a percussion device. He consistently looks at the deeper patterning we all carry, and employs movement, breath, and postural and gait work to support the release from bodywork. He intends to support clients holistically, and the conversation often includes education about nutrition, supplementation, exercise strategies and self-care. He also provides Body Attunements, deep, full-body nurturing of the whole system.


In his own search for balance, Stephen moves/exercises every day, meditates, spends whatever time he can in nature, attends live music, travels/explores, and thrills to spend time with his beautiful friends, family, and his remarkable daughter (and their cat). He is humbled and astonished by the wondrous, temporal time we are given and hopes to explore it with you.
