Jennifer Carlson

I am a New Jersey Licensed Massage Therapist and Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) with more than 20 years of experience in the massage therapy profession. My background spans clinical practice, massage therapy education, curriculum development, program coordination, continuing education, and professional mentorship.

My approach to therapeutic massage is assessment-informed and individualized. I believe effective massage therapy begins with understanding the person—not simply identifying an area of discomfort. Initial sessions include a comprehensive health history, postural and movement assessment, discussion of goals and concerns, and collaborative development of a treatment plan.

I draw from a broad range of therapeutic approaches, including neuromuscular and trigger point therapy, connective tissue and myofascial techniques, passive movement, orthopedic massage, deep tissue massage, perinatal massage, oncology massage, and other techniques selected according to the client's needs, goals, and appropriate precautions.

As a BCTMB, I have chosen to maintain a voluntary professional credential that goes beyond entry-level state licensure and reflects an ongoing commitment to continuing education, ethical practice, professional competency, and the advancement of massage therapy.

In addition to clinical practice, I am deeply involved in massage therapy education and professional development. My work includes teaching, curriculum and program development, mentoring massage therapists and educators, continuing education, and service to the profession.
