Hello and welcome to Healing Hands Massage Therapy. I believe my massage career began many years ago when I did a school report on massage, which led to my interest in the field. However, I'd never received a massage until a motor vehicle accident in 1992 left me in tremendous soft tissue pain. After the usual protocol for pain treatment I had little relief until I tried massage therapy. I committed to weekly sessions for one year and found it not only helped physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.I'd been working in the human service field for some 25 years and decided I wanted to help others as I'd been helped, so for the next 2 years looked into massage schools throughout the country. I decided to attend the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida in 1995 as it was a well established educational facility since 1973. I then returned to the New York area and set up private practice in 1999. I worked part-time until 2003 when I decided to take the leap into full-time practice. Throughout the years my interest in healing & health has led me to take many educational courses which I am able to share with others.New York State has some of the highest requirements for certification in the massage field, and I have continued to pursue training in various techniques in order to improve my skills to share with clients.  At present I work part-time in private practice in my Newark NY location.  I look forward to meeting you to discuss how my skills may meet your individual needs.
