Thursday, September 12

Opening Session & Business Meeting, 9am 

Join us on Thursday morning at Convention, as Dolly Chugh, social psychologist and management professor at the New York University Stern School of Business, leads us through an empowering discussion on DEI and ways we can enhance our massage community by fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for both practitioners and clients.

Come hear how Dolly’s research on “bounded ethicality” and the “psychology of good people”  can help massage therapists better understand the unique needs of a wide range of clients, leading to more effective massage sessions and client outcomes. Together, we can unlock the potential of our massage therapy community and create lasting change.

Come together with your massage therapy community from across the country to celebrate the achievements throughout the profession and the many ways our members have contributed to the success of AMTA.

First-Timers Lunch, 11:30am

If you are new to AMTA or this is your first time at Convention, don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the AMTA Board of Directors and other newcomers. Secure your spot by selecting the First-Timers Lunch when you register. Lunch will be served promptly at 11:30am.

Teachers Networking Luncheon, Noon

Connect with other educators and renew friendships at the Teacher’s Luncheon. To participate, make sure to select the Teachers Luncheon on your registration. Please note: a $40 lunch fee will be added. Lunch will be served promptly at 12:00pm.

Bust-a-Move Dance Party Fundraiser for Massage Therapy Foundation, 7-9:30pm

Shimmy, shake, and sway your way to the Massage Therapy Foundation’s Dance Party Fundraiser. With a live DJ, the Dance Party is a charity event to support MTF’s research, education, and community service programs. Shake a leg and get a ticket today online, or bounce over to MTF’s registration table (on-site at AMTA Convention) on Wednesday, September 11. Tickets sell quickly; there are limited tickets available at the door.

Closing Panel, 2pm

Bridging Science and Practice: Empowering Massage Therapists through Research 

Join us on Saturday afternoon as we bring together massage therapists and thought leaders in integrative healthcare to discuss the latest science in massage therapy. This session will delve into the important role of research, provide resources for locating reputable studies, and share the best methods for applying these findings in your practice. Listen as our panel explores how emerging research can better inform your massage practice and lead to improved outcomes for your clients. Leave this session feeling inspired and empowered to make a positive impact in your massage practice.
