Congratulations to David Lauterstein—2012 Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year!
David is a distinguished collaborator, instructor and author in the bodywork field and has presented workshops for therapists and teachers in the U.S. and the U.K. He is also a prominent international spokesman for the union of art and science in massage and bodywork. He is co-director at the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage.
David’s early studies focused on music. His growing interest in yoga, martial arts and psychotherapy led him toward the healing arts. In 1976, he experienced Rolfing and soon started a study group with other Rolfers, psychotherapists and martial artists. In 1977, he graduated from the massage program at the Body/mind Center, later called the Chicago School of Massage Therap, and then began a professional massage therapy practice.
David joined AMTA in 1982 and was also presented with his 30-year Anniversary Pin from AMTA President Cynthia Ribeiro. Congratulations David!

New Teaching Award Announced
AMTA President Cynthia Ribeiro announced a new award to honor excellence for a person’s body of massage therapy work focused specifically on the area of teaching and education. Because she was such an inspiration to educators, students and practitioners, the award is established in the name of Dianne Polseno as the Dianne Polseno Lifetime Achievement Award.
