Team MTF - Running for Research

The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) has received four invitational entries (running bibs) for the 2017 Boston Marathon from the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program. Since 2012, MTF has been grateful for the opportunity to participate in their charity program and invite runners to run and fundraise on their behalf. Help them get a jump start to the finish line and make your donation today to support Team MTF!

2017 Call for Posters

The Massage Therapy Foundation is currently looking for research posters that will be presented during the AMTA 2017 National Convention in Pasadena, CA. The poster sessions highlight research about massage, education and community service projects. Participation in this event provides convention attendees with the opportunity to learn about how individual massage therapists have impacted their communities and advanced the profession.

Posters should include research findings, diagrams, photographs and charts. The submission deadline is May 17, 2017. This is open to massage therapy practitioners and students as well as researchers who are interested in sharing their research findings about the benefits of massage therapy.

Donations at Work

The MTF is proud to give massage therapy professionals and students the chance to bring their skills to those in need with our grants and contests. Many of our grantees and contest winners have been featured in publications across the nation. 2014 Research Grantee Deborah Backus, PhD and Director of Multiple Schlerosis Research at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA, had her work showcased on the organization's website. Dr. Backus is conducting research on how massage therapy can improve the pain symptoms of multiple schlerosis patients. Our grantees are working to prove that massage therapy can benefit the health and well-being of others.
