Massage Therapy Foundation Board Announce New Executive Director

The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that current AMTA foundation Director Gini S. Ohlson will become its executive director on July 1, 2013. “With Gini’s 15 years of experience and directly managing the day-to-day operations of the MTF, the Board is confident in her abilities and understanding of the Foundation,” says MTF President Ruth Werner. “Gini has given so much to the MTF over her many years of service that it was a natural selection for her to be the new executive director.” Full press release .

Thank You to All Who Sponsored and Participated in the 2013 Research Conference

The Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2013 International Massage Therapy Research Conference was a true success. We had nothing but positive feedback from the attendees.  We would like to thank the planning committee, especially co-chairs Ruth Werner and Diana Thompson, for putting together such an informative and fascinating agenda. Additionally, we would like to thank our presenting sponsor, AMTA, as well as the many other organizations that so generously sponsored the conference.  We would also like to extend a thank you to Allissa Haines and Sarah Rogers. Both did an extraordinary job of assisting with this event. Finally, a special thank you to Mary White, Lisa Curran Parenteau,Richard Wedegartner, and the AMTA-MA Chapter for organizing and providing complimentary on-site massage therapy. Golf Outing to benefit the MTF

Join us in Fort Worth, Texas, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, before the AMTA National Convention for our 3rd annual Golf Outing. Last year’s outing raised more than $9,000 for the Massage Therapy Foundation! We’d like to top that this year and we need your participation to do so. You don’t even have to be a golfer to play, just ask Dolly Wallace, an MTF Trustee who had a great time last year despite her lack of golfing skills. Learn all of the details and register on our website.

Sponsor the Golf Outing

The success of the MTF Golf Outing not only depends on the players but the sponsors as well. There are several sponsorship opportunities available at various levels starting at $100! Contact Paul Slomski at pslomski@massagetherapyfoundation.org for more information.

As the sustaining benefactor for the foundation, AMTA’s financial support helps the foundation carry out its mission and reinforces AMTA’s goal for evidence-informed massage practice.
