National Convention Attendees Reenergize Their Passion in Portland

National Convention Attendees Reenergize Their Passion...

Targeted education, rousing keynote and a focus on the future of the profession highlight AMTA's 2011 National Convention...

There was a buzz in the air as more than 1,400 attendees joined peers and leaders of the profession in Portland, Oregon, October 19-22, for the AMTA 2011 National Convention. Massage therapy teachers, students and professionals from varied backgrounds came together for four days of rigorous learning, best-practice sharing and to relish in the amazing energy currently surrounding the profession.

A Few Highlights...

Highlights of the convention included dynamic keynote speaker Kevin Carroll, the special release of information from the AMTA 2011 Consumer Survey, and an in-depth focus on integrative health care which included presentations from Dr. Brent Bauer of the Mayo Clinic and a tour of Providence Portland Medical Center. Attendees renewed their dedication to the profession and expanded their skill-sets with access to more than 40 hours of continuing education that included specialized tracks for teachers, spa employees, students and researchers. The chance to explore the energetic (and expansive) Exhibits Marketplace and build connections with practitioners from across the nation rounded out the  experience for attendees.
