Advancing the Profession

Connect With Your Community During National Massage Therapy Awareness Week

AMTA’s 15th annual National Massage Therapy Awareness Week (NMTAW) is right around the corner! AMTA members across the country will share the health and wellness benefits of massage with their communities during the week of October 23-29.

Here are some examples of how AMTA members are getting involved with their communities:
Dedrie Beck of the AMTA-Texas Chapter is celebrating NMTAW with a pay it forward promotion. Clients of her Pause Organic BodyWorks, LLC practice who book a massage in October will receive a massage gift certificate to give to a deserving recipient. Her goal is to share the benefits of massage with a new audience.

The AMTA-Colorado Chapter is partnering with The Chanda Plan Foundation and "Giving Wellness A Way" during NMTAW. Many AMTA-CO members are donating 20 percent of their massage therapy income during this week-long, integrative therapy event to raise funds and benefit persons living with long-term disabilities in metropolitan Denver.
