AMTA Volunteers Nationwide Lend Their Touch for Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Events
For the second straight year, AMTA members provided complimentary chair massage to participants at the Susan G. Komen® 3-Day for the Cure® events. In partnership with Energizer®, AMTA member volunteers gave 10-minute massages to participants at all 15 events nationwide.
Participants walked more than 20 miles each day to raise money to find the cure for breast cancer. In all, more than 300 AMTA volunteers worked together to help provide massage to walkers in each of the participating cities.
Each event was also highlighted on AMTA’s Facebook page. AMTA members were encouraged to submit photos from the events and post comments.

AMTA Educates Spa Professionals at International Spa Association's (ISPA's) Annual Conference and Expo
As part of ongoing efforts to increase collaboration with key stakeholders, AMTA participated at the ISPA Annual Conference and Expo for the fourth year and sponsored the professional development session titled “I Get It.” The session exposed spa personnel to methods to communicate more effectively with massage therapists.
AMTA also exhibited on the tradeshow floor and provided attendees with important information about massage and the importance of hiring AMTA members. What's more, AMTA was the official provider of chair massage at the event.
The 2010 ISPA Conference attracted more than 2,000 attendees for four days of education sessions and networking opportunities. The event also included a trade show featuring 100 different exhibitors.
AMTA attends the conference to educate and network with spa professionals from across the country and increase its exposure within the spa industry.
