AMTA Tutorial Video: Introduction to Thai Massage

Known as nuad phaen boran in the Thai language, the English name Thai massage may seem a misnomer to practitioners of traditional Western-style massage therapy. Clients remain fully clothed. You do not use oils (although some practitioners use hot herb packs), and the focus is not necessarily on specific muscle groups. (Source: AMTA's Massage Therapy Journal)

Are you interested in learning more about Thai massage? Watch past AMTA National Convention speaker Jill Burynski provide a hands-on demonstration in this introduction to Thai massage.

This tutorial is intended to provide a general overview. Before using any new technique, make sure you're knowledgeable about the massage therapy scope of practice in your area by checking with your state's regulatory board.
