New Opportunity for Massage Schools: COMTA-Endorsed Curriculum Recognition

Massage schools affected by NCBTMB’s recent decision to sunset its Assigned School Program now have a new pathway to curriculum recognition through the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA).

In collaboration with NCBTMB, COMTA is inviting schools to apply for COMTA-Endorsed Curriculum Recognition—a comparable program that upholds high educational standards while providing additional resources and opportunities for professional engagement.

To support schools during this transition, AMTA has teamed up with COMTA to cover both the initial application fee and renewal fees, an opportunity valued at nearly $2,000.

The COMTA-Endorsed Curriculum program recognizes the quality and strength of a school’s curriculum and instructional practices. Participating schools will also receive guidance throughout the application process, with COMTA staff available to answer questions and help ensure a smooth transition.
