About
Marian Wolfe Dixon, MA, LMT, is a licensed massage therapist (since 1992) and hypnotherapist (since 1993) with master's degrees in psychology and health education. Author of Body Mechanics and Self Care Manual, BodyLessons, and Myofascial Massage and (e-book in progress) Becoming Pain-Free: Using Massage, Movement and Mindfulness Medicine to Transform Pain. I enjoy working with people who present complex medical profiles, including people recovering from MVA's (I bill auto insurance), sports injuries, chronic pain, (including fibromyalgia and TMD joint pain), trauma and PTSD, digestive complaints, insomnia, depression and anxiety. I help patients with cancer, MS, EDS, PD and other "intractable" conditions to optimize function and mobilize inner resources that were previously untapped. Having lived with medically unexplained pain for over ten years, I know from the inside how it feels when I touch people who hurt. Currently offering online (ZOOM) CE classes for massage therapists and adjunctive self-care for patients - Qigong classes, individualized massage and movement (foam rolling, Qigong and Tai Chi) coaching and interactive hypnotherapy (guided healing journeys) for pain relief, immunity boosting, and calming anxiety, depression or fear.
