My diverse background has given me an expanded understanding of many cultures and the physical body, strong but sensitive hands, and a disciplined work ethic that ensures that you will receive great massage therapy every time you are on my table. In my 15+ years as a therapist I have massaged professional athletes, musicians, boxers, weight-lifters, cyclists, chiropractic patients, cancer survivors, residents in an AIDS hospice, and spa clients. Now I practice in 3 different arenas: at Carmen & Co. Salon, Massage Envy Spa, and as an out call therapist.  In fact, I have been the highest requested therapist at the Massage Envy clinic for the past 5 years.  As a music professor at University of North Carolina I have taught music performance/ history as well as fitness. I have served as cruise staff aboard a six-star cruise ship; I have managed a spa & gym, taught fitness, yoga, and ballroom dance, have functioned as a personal trainer, and have sung classical music (opera) professionally.  My adventures have given me opportunities to travel all over the world and explore several foreign languages/ cultures. In addition to fitness & strength training both my 30+ years of piano study and background in working with cattle, sheep and horses have cultivated very strong capable hands.  With six college degrees including a BS in Kinesiology (the study of physical movement), a Massage Degree from Florida College of Natural Health, and a doctorate from University of Illinois, I possess an insatiable passion for continued professional development.  I love to seek out new research and effective techniques that will be "just the right thing" for a particular client.  I truly care about each and every person that I have the privilege to serve.
