Heather Solis 703-522-7637
A competitive swimmer since childhood, Heather understands the strength, limitations and resiliency of the body. A decade of strenuous practices and meets pushed her to the limits, and as a freshmen collegiate swimmer, she developed impingement syndrome. Working with a massage therapist, she was able to manage her pain and eventually discover another competitive sport that was less taxing on her shoulder joint. She joined the women’s lacrosse team, competing four seasons at Wisconsin-La Crosse. She graduated in 2008 with bachelor of science in recreation management.
After working in aquatics for several years, Heather felt a call to return to school for massage therapy to help others as she was helped. She graduated in 2014 from SHI Integrative Medical Massage School in Lebanon, OH. After completing a massage externship at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, she began practicing at a local private health club in Ohio, where she saw clients for a variety of reasons from relaxation to specific therapeutic needs to sports massage. In 2017, Heather moved to Virginia and joined the Teal Center Team.
Heather’s passion for massage therapy is fueled by the joy of helping clients find relief from pain and championing health and wellbeing. She specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point and sports massage. She is currently deepening her training and clinical skills as a Teal Center fellow, while also studying Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT) and orthopedic massage.
Still an avid swimmer, Heather stays busy and fulfilled playing on the volleyball court, volunteering with the American Massage Therapy Association, spending time with her family and satisfying her curiosity and problem-solving drive with continuing education.
