2013 MTF Golf Outing

Join us for a day of golf, networking, and fun at the 3rd Annual Massage Therapy Foundation Golf Outing – in conjunction with AMTA National Convention in Fort Worth, Texas!

This outing will take place Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Golf Club at Fossil Creek.  The course will challenge golfers of all abilities.  There are 18 testing holes that are all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek.  Designed by golf legend Arnold Palmer, this is an exclusive 72 par course and winds its way through 1150 acres of natural Texas terrain. The shotgun time is 10:00 am.  All proceeds will benefit MTF’s efforts in Research, Education, and Community Service.

2013 Call for Abstracts for AMTA National Convention Poster Session

Research posters are an excellent way to visually present research findings at scientific events or professional settings.  The MTF poster sessions are a showcase of research done by community service and research grant recipients as well as other massage therapy researchers in the field.  Please submit your abstract by July1, 2013.  The convention is September 25-28th in Fort Worth, Texas.

2013 MTF Post-AMTA Seminar

Please join us for the 2013 Massage Therapy Foundation Post-AMTA Conference Seminar set to take place on Sunday, September 29th. Our featured instructor, Diana Thompson will discuss how self-care is essential for your health and longevity as a massage therapist, and for your client’s health and healing. This workshop will show you easy and practical techniques, tips and tools you can use on and off the table, for you and your clients such as: self-massage, topical analgesics, movement/stretching/strengthening exercises, support cushions, breathing and meditation tips. Come dressed to move, and bring your smart phones or tablets to download self-care apps. Performance Health (PHI) is supplying Biofreeze ® and Theraband ® products to test and take home. A PHI gift backpack is included valued at over $50; additional supplies will be available for purchase. NCBTMB approved. Participants will receive 6 CEs.

International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

Massage Therapy Foundation is pleased to provide the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork: Research, Education, & Practice (IJTMB). IJTMB is an online, peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal for the therapeutic massage and bodywork profession, and is available free of subscription fees and contributing author charges.  It’s an indispensable resource for members of the massage and bodywork profession as well as for related health-care professionals.  .
