Dianne L. Polseno passed away on May 12, 2012. Dianne was awarded the AMTA Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year award for teaching excellence in 2006 and will be dearly missed by her colleagues and peers. Upon receiving the award she shared that the secret to being a good teacher is to be mindful and that her greatest teachers are her students.
Dianne graduated from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1990. She went on to teach at Bancroft and later served as the president of Cortiva Institute, Boston campus. Dianne touched the lives of hundreds of students through her teaching. As a volunteer, Polseno was dedicated to ensuring that massage therapy schools had a voice in the profession. She served on the Council of Schools Board and committees and later as a key member of the AMTA Schools Summit and Schools Benefits committees. Dianne's mentorship of her students was well-respected, and her reach was even wider as she served as an ethics columnist for Massage Therapy Journal from 1998 to 2012.
