In-person Massage Research Continuing Education

The AMTA 2017 National Convention—September 14-16 in Pasadena, Califronia—features research-focused massage therapy CE, developed in partnership with the Massage Therapy Foundation.

Current Research: Massage & Pain | 2 CE Credits

Instructors: Chester “Trip” Buckenmaier III, MD & Jerrilyn Cambron, PhD

Pain is a major public health concern, significantly affecting the quality of life of approximately 100 million Americans. The Samueli Institute, with funding by the Massage Therapy Foundation and support from AMTA, conducted a systematic review and metanalysis of published science on massage and pain. Review important findings on the impact of massage therapy for chronic pain, cancer-related pain and surgical pain.
