AMTA Announces Board Special Election Results

With the election of Cynthia Ribeiro (CA) to the position of president-elect effective March 1, 2011, the AMTA board held a special election in accordance with policy to fill the year vacancy remaining of Cynthia’s term as vice president.

Jeff Smoot (OK) was elected to fill the vacancy. Jeff is currently serving as an AMTA member-at-large. His election creates a vacancy in the position of member-at-large effective March 1, 2011. The board will hold a special election to fill the vacancy. Jeff has served as AMTA member-at-large since 2008. The board warmly welcomes Jeff to his new role as vice president.

Volunteer for the AMTA National Board!

AMTA is looking for members to run for election to the AMTA National Board of Directors. The office of president term is March 1, 2012 to February 28, 2015, starting with president-elect, succeeding to the presidency and then immediate past president; the vice president term is March 1, 2012 to February 28, 2014; and the member-at-large term is March 1, 2012 to February 28, 2014.

This is an opportunity to network with other massage therapists, advance your career and give back to your profession. It is a chance to share your knowledge, expertise and training with others.  It provides a valuable work experience that opens doors to new opportunities, and relations with new friends and lifelong mentors.
