Be a Leader in Your Profession and Run for an AMTA Elected Position!

Would you like to take the next step in serving our profession and participate with fellow members at the national level? Consider running for an elected office for the National Board of Directors or Commission on Candidacy.

View the criteria for Board or Commission on Candidacy positions. Remember, some elected positions involve less of a time commitment than others.

Candidate applications are available beginning July 1, and the application process must be completed by Sept. 1.

Application Process

  • Complete these three online courses (member login required): About Non-Profit Associations, Responsibilities and Communications throughout AMTA and Risk Management for Associations;
  • Once the courses are completed, you can access and complete the online application packet;
  • After the Commission on Candidacy has reviewed the application and determined that you meet the position requirements, your candidate profile will be posted in AMTA’s National Election section;
  • As a candidate, you can choose to begin using social media.

If you're interested in serving, contact Colleen Leeders, AMTA staff liaison to the Commission on Candidacy. The Commissioner of Elections and Commission on Candidacy welcome your questions, comments and ideas.
