Work of the Massage Therapy Entry-Level Analysis Project Begins


Members of the Massage Therapy Entry-Level Analysis Project (ELAP) have released a project description detailing the workings of the group, its planned activities and its goals. Massage therapists, educators and massage school administrators are strongly encouraged to read the plan and the timetable for how research will be conducted and input gathered from all massage therapy stakeholders over the next year.

The ELAP work group, a product of Massage Therapy Leadership Summit conversations over the past eight months, includes eight members with expertise in massage curriculum development, teaching and research assessment. The ELAP work group will conduct a research project to identify the essential elements of foundational massage curriculum through analysis of a number of massage profession project outputs, surveys and resources. The use of detailed learning outcomes will allow for an accurate recommendation for competent teaching of essential massage therapy topics. 

AMTA is an active participant in this project, in collaboration with others in the profession. We especially ask our Professional and School members to read the plan and participate in the comment period when it is announced.
