AMTA REVISES WEB SITE AND EXPANDS
LEARN ‘N EARNSM CONTINUING
EDUCATION/EVENTS CALENDAR, OTHER SPECIAL FEATURES
Evanston, IL – In April, over 335,000 unique visitors
looked at the revised AMTA Web site when it was unveiled. An increase of
51% over the average number of monthly visitors for AMTA’s current fiscal
year. One of the most popular features was the expanded Learn ‘n Earn
calendar, designed to provide massage therapists with information on
classes, seminars and events that could help them expand their careers and
meet continuing education requirements.
The Learn ’n Earn calendar is now provided as a free
public service by AMTA to the massage community worldwide. Unlike other
sites on the Internet that charge anywhere from $40 to $80 for a listing,
AMTA does not charge to post information. The site is completely automated
and user-friendly for posting events. Events are deleted automatically on
the last day of the event.
The new calendar format allows viewing by week or by
month, with expanded views of full information including contact
information, e-mail and Web links. This expanded program has already drawn
international entries.
The revised AMTA Web site at
www.amtamassage.org also features a new Career Center for posting of
jobs and resumes by both members and non-members, a Classified Ad Program
featuring over 15 categories in which to post or view ads, and a Shopping
Mall which includes AMTA’s popular online Buyers Guide. The new AMTA
Shopping Mall is programmed with special features that alert viewers to
product sales and provide them with a record of their previous orders.
Monthly specials are featured with discount prices, while advertisers in the
Buyers Guide often provide special offers or discounted pricing to viewers.
AMTA members can post events, ads and resumes for free in the Career Center,
the Classified Ad Program and the Learn ‘n Earn Calendar.
On average, the AMTA Web site attracts more than 8.3
million hits and over 165,500 unique visitors each month. AMTA’s online
Find a Massage Therapist national locator service has already attracted more
than 92,000 potential clients for AMTA Professional Active Members, in the
first 6 months of 2004.
