(Evanston, IL) - The
American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) is proud to
announce that its member magazine MTJ (Massage
Therapy Journal) has been recognized for excellence
by the Society of National Association Publications
(SNAP). The publication has been honored with two EXCEL
Awards, which recognize the best and the brightest in
nonprofit association media and publishing.
This
year, MTJ is receiving a Silver Award for General
Excellence and a Bronze Award for Design Excellence.
“We are delighted that MTJ is being honored for
its publishing excellence,” says AMTA President Judy
Stahl. “Our members receive an outstanding publication
that helps them keep up with their profession and
provides quality member information.”
MTJ has won multiple EXCEL Awards over several years for its
design, content and overall excellence. In 2007, MTJ
was recognized with an EXCEL EXTRA! Award for its
outstanding innovation in association publishing.
MTJ is one of 181 winners, representing 108 nonprofit
associations, selected from nearly 1,000 entries.
According to SNAP, “Winners were chosen for taking bold
chances in editorial, design, advertising and marketing,
online publishing and electronic newsletter categories.”
SNAP is a nonprofit, professional society serving the
needs of association publishers and communications
professionals.
The American Massage Therapy Association is the largest
nonprofit, professional association for massage
therapists with more than 58,000 massage therapist
members. The association is directed by volunteer
leadership and fosters ongoing, direct
member-involvement through its 51 chapters. AMTA works
to advance the profession through ethics and standards,
the promotion of fair and consistent licensing of
massage therapists in all states, and public education
on the benefits of massage.
