Tax
Relief for Those Affected by Hurricanes
If
you or your business were affected by Hurricanes
Katrina, Rita or Wilma, you may be eligible for tax
relief this season.
The
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released
Publication 4492, Information for Taxpayers Affected by
Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, to help those
affected understand if they are eligible for any of the
special tax breaks under new provisions passed to the
tax laws.
You
can read a detailed listing of which disaster areas for
each hurricane are covered, as well as which areas are
eligible for administrative relief from the IRS.
In
addition highlighting tax changes businesses need to
know about, it also has useful tips for individuals,
including how to claim unreimbursed losses.
