My formal training is medical massage therapy. I have worked in the medical massage field for over nine years. Massage alleviates many maladies from insomnia to chronic pain. While working with an acupuncturist/physiatrist, MD and chiropractor we successfully treated: stress, chronic back and neck pain, bursitis, tendonitis, sciatica, TMJ, fibromyalgia, insomnia and depression to name a few. I have taken additional training in Pregnancy massage, Reiki and Reflexology. I have studied the healing modalities of various other cultures for over 20 years. I find it very effective to incorporate many of these modalities into my massage therapy. Integrative Massage means that I assess your problems and discomforts and tailor a massage specifically for you using deep tissue, Swedish, acupressure as well as other modalities to alleviate your problems. Massage is a gentle healing and usually requires more than one treatment to permanently help you although most people feel immediate relief after one session. I re-educate the muscles to relax and return to their original states. Just like exercising, the muscles take a bit of coaxing to return to a healthy state.
