Oriental Bodywork is a traditional form of massage that includes stretching, breathing techniques and various methods of compression designed to liberate and restore the flow of energy in the body. Performed on the table, the therapist uses moderate to intense finger pressure (Shi-atsu) on specific meridian points on the body in a rhythmic fashion which liberates blockages, tension and pain making it possible for one to effortlessly experience deep relaxation.
This course will enable the therapist to perform a full 60 minute routine that works on the14 meridians, the abdomen and specific acupressure points. Participants will be given an overview of Oriental Medicine philosophy, acupressure and diagnostic techniques and the 5 element system. Participants will both give and receive the routine. Successful completion of the course, examination and evaluation will grant them a Level 1 certification.
