Compassionate Presence

Healing presence - tending to a living being with compassionate intention-is powerful medicine. Compassionate caring alleviates suffering, reducing stress and elevates mood. From the role of oxytocin in women's response to stress, to the relationship of empathy and connectedness to health and longevity, the healing effects of loving-kindness are well documented. The therapist's commitment to self-care and ability to stay centered create an authentic presence that overflows, rather than a condition that is stressful and draining. In this presentation we'll move from the molecular to the practical, including two powerful meditation skills that develop and maintain loving presence.
