Massage therapy students and recent graduates are invited to attend AMTA Student Day on Friday, October 5 for an inspiring day full of professional development tips and resources to prepare you as you enter the profession. Network with pioneers in the industry, successful practitioners and potential employers as you hone your interviewing and business skills to prepare you for the next stage of your career.
 
Online registration is now closed. On-site student registration and pre-registered attendee badge pick up is 8:30–9:30 a.m. on Friday,October 5 at the Raleigh Convention Center.


AMTA Kick Start

9:30 a.m. - Noon
If you're a new massage therapist or a massage therapy student, this session will provide invaluable practice management and business information to help you “kick start” your practice. Join AMTA for this fun, interactive, information-packed session and a chance to win one of many valuable prizes.

Topics include:

  • Marketing Your Business by Kray Kibler, CFO, Scrip Companies
  • Retailing Products by Lynda Solien-Wolfe, Director of Clinical Education and Research, Massage and Spa for Performance Health
  • Your Perfect Work Place by CG Funk, Vice President of Industry Relations and Product Development, Massage Envy Franchising
  • Test Prep, Interviewing Skills and Resume Writing, Nedra Dozier, Forsyth Technical Community College

Networking Lunch and Introduction to AMTA

Noon–1:30 p.m.
AMTA welcomes Student Day attendees to the convention to discuss the benefits of AMTA membership and how the association can support career development. A boxed lunch will be provided.


Student Tour of the Exhibits Marketplace

1:30-3 p.m.
AMTA opens the exhibit hall to Student Day attendees for an exploration of the top products used by massage therapists today and a sneak peek at those products you can use to set your practice apart in the future.


Test Prep, Interviewing Skills and Resume Writing

3-4:30 pm
Hear study tips and lessons to prepare you for the massage therapy exam for licensure; learn how to answer some of the usual and expected interview questions; and understand how to present your experience and skills in the best light possible on your resume.  Attendees are eligible for valuable sponsored prizes!
