The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) has published the third in its series of career success guides, titled, Working in a Franchise Environment. The career guide includes comments by massage therapists on their experiences working in a franchise, as well as information provided by major massage therapy franchise executives. “Massage therapy chains and franchises have become a large part of our profession in the past several years,” says AMTA President Glenath Moyle. “Massage therapists need to know what to expect so they can make informed decisions about the best work environments for them.”
The career guides are part of AMTA’s broad support for massage therapy career development to give its members the information they need in a competitive marketplace. They provide specific information on how to work in a variety of professional settings and supplement the association’s online Career Guidance Center, Career Path Quiz and its very successful mentoring program. Previous career success guides are, Working in a Spa and Working in a Health Care Environment.
