Best Liability Insurance Coverage in the Industry

AMTA Professional and General Liability Insurance

Insurance is a necessity for your practice. A lawsuit filed against you or your practice can be financially devastating. As a member we want you to be protected so we've created a policy with professional and general liability insurance. This "occurrence" form insurance is the broadest type available, and, as long as coverage is in effect at the time of an incident, you're fully covered - even if a claim is filed in the future.

If you're a member with insurance, you automatically receive this first-rate protection and peace of mind for Professional AND General Liability claims:

* Up to $2,000,000 per incident
* Up to $6,000,000 in aggregate coverage annually

Your Professional Liability Insurance protects you in the event you are sued for ANY work you are qualified to perform as a massage therapist.

Plus, your General Liability Insurance protects you against non-professional liability claims for what could happen during massage therapy, either on or off premises. This includes things such as property damage, and legal liability related to fire damage to properties you rent.

These high limits exceed the amount required by most facilities, and you will likely be asked to provide them with proof of your insurance.

In some cases, a facility may require you to add them to your policy. If this is a requirement, you can add these facilities at no additional charge. This option is for Professional Members only.

If you have employees they must obtain their own coverage by becoming AMTA members. They may not be named as additional insureds.

Student members are covered with AMTA’s professional and general liability insurance for school-sponsored or sanctioned activities while a student and post-graduation pending qualification. Student members qualify for the extended insurance coverage if they’ve:

1) Graduated from their initial massage therapy training program of 500 or more in-class hours; AND

2) Met applicable state or local licensing requirements. Please note that for any state or locale that requires licensure, it’s imperative that Student members do not practice until their license has been obtained. Where licensure is required, successful graduation from a massage therapy training program may not be sufficient for professional liability coverage to apply.
